In class today we had adults from oppurtunities unlimited come into class and we worked with them on many different things. My group had a 20 year old girl named Amanda. Amanda was really sweet and easy going. It was very rewarding working with her because looking at her you probably could not tell that she had a cognitive disability.
With Amanda we walked around Niagara University and even went into the art gallery. We talked about good work skills and Amanda gave us alot of insight and help with what we wanted to accomplish out of it.
After we walked around with the students from Oppurtunities unlimited we came back to the classroom and worked on four stations with them. These stations were the story, play doh, the fort, and the intelligences stations. At each station each student got to use their own thoughts and ideas to accomplish that stations goals.

*Quiz #7* chalkboard metaphor madness and mayhem!

What kind of activity is this??
**This activity helps you connect something that you like with what you are learning in class. I picked hearts because I love drawing hearts and I love that they represent the feeling of love. If you were to use this activity with high school kids, or even elementary or secondary kids, it would help them to get excited about the material. You can take what you are learning and use things that you like to help you learn.
How does it challenge you?
**This activity challenges you because it makes you use something that you make up to help you learn the material. You have to choose some meaningful object and then use that in the process. I can see how some kids would have a challenge in picking out a meaningful object because this would be an activity that they would not be used to. Students are used to the usual pen and paper worksheets and getting up to use the board and also using a tool that they choose themselves is something that they maybe had never done before!
What Background information are you using to complete this activity?
**In order to complete this activity you needed to know the different disabilities and some examples of these disabilities. You needed to have atleast 5 details about each of the four disability categories we have learned so far. Even if you did not know the information you could always use a book to help aid your learning.
How much do you love this blackboard compared to the other blackboard?!
** Honestly, the non-technological blackboard is way better! I am old-fashioned in the way that I think about teaching. Even thought technology is great and is really starting to become a great aid in todays teaching I do think that every now and then its great to revert back to "old school" ways and use an actualy blackboard with chalk!
