Class 11/5 Working with oppurtunites unlimited!

In class today we had adults from oppurtunities unlimited come into class and we worked with them on many different things. My group had a 20 year old girl named Amanda. Amanda was really sweet and easy going. It was very rewarding working with her because looking at her you probably could not tell that she had a cognitive disability.
With Amanda we walked around Niagara University and even went into the art gallery. We talked about good work skills and Amanda gave us alot of insight and help with what we wanted to accomplish out of it.
After we walked around with the students from Oppurtunities unlimited we came back to the classroom and worked on four stations with them. These stations were the story, play doh, the fort, and the intelligences stations. At each station each student got to use their own thoughts and ideas to accomplish that stations goals.

  2. Nice start here. But there were a lot of things to document that didn't go well, correct?
I'm unclear what you meant by "It was very rewarding working with her because looking at her you probably could not tell that she had a cognitive disability. " Do you mean that working with her changed the way you understood disability? or something else.

Be careful of the language you use - "My group had a ...." My sense is that you meant that you and your group had the opportunity, or the experience. But you didn't "have" her.
